Applications
The anchor is made from 304 Stainless Steel. This anchor is designed for use in Concrete only, and should never be used in block or brick base material.
Environment
The anchor is designed for use in a Wet environment.
Hole Diameter/Bit Diameter
The anchor requires a 3/4" hole to be drilled in the base material (Concrete only). The hole should be drilled with carbide tipped bit that meets ANSI standards and used in a hammer drill.
Diameter of Anchor
The diameter of the anchor is 3/4".
Length Anchor
The length of the anchor is 7"
Thread Type
The threads on the anchor are national coarse threads that measures 3/4" with 10 threads per inch, commonly referred to as 3/4"-10 .
Thread Length
The length of the threads on the anchor is 3-1/2" in length.
Packaging
The anchor is packaged with 10 pieces per box and is packaged with the correct number and diameter of nuts and washers.
Minimum Embedment
The minimum anchor embedment into the concrete is 3-1/4". Therefore, the anchor must be installed so that a minimum of 3-1/4" of the anchor is embedded into the concrete.
Depth of Hole
The depth of the hole that is required for the anchor should be a minimum of 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete. This will allow space for dust created during the installation process to fall, which will prevent the anchor from bottoming out in the hole before full penetration into the concrete.
Maximum Fixture Thickness
The maximum fixture thickness or the maximum thickness of the material being fastened for a anchor is 3-3/4". This will ensure that the minimum embedment of 3-1/4" will be met.
Fixture Hole Diameter
The hole in the fixture or material being fastened must be larger than the designated diameter of the anchor. The 3/4" diameter anchor requires the hole in the fixture to be 13/16".
Wrench Size
The size of the wrench required to turn the nut to set the anchor is 1-1/8".
Torque Value
The maximum torque that can be applied to the anchor once installed is 110 ft./lbs.
Spacing between Anchors
Each anchor must be spaced a minimum distance of 11-3/8" from each other when measured center to center.
Edge Distance
It is very important not to install the anchor any closer than 5-11/16" from an unsupported edge of the concrete.
Markings
The anchor is stamped with the letter L on the threaded end to allow inspection of the anchor after installation. The letter "L" designates an overall length of the anchor as between 7" up to, but not including 7-1/2" in length.
Anchor Size | Minimum Embedment | Pull-Out (lbs.) | Shear (lbs.) |
3/4" x 7" | 3-1/4" | 6765 | 10120 |
- Select a carbide drill bit with a diameter equal to the anchor diameter. Drill a hole at least 1/4” deeper than nominal anchor embedment.
- Clean hole with pressurized air or vacuum to remove any excess dust/debris.
- Using the washer and nut provided, assemble the anchor, leaving nut one half turn from the end of the anchor to protect threads. Drive anchor through fixture to be fastened until washer is flush to surface of fixture.
- Expand anchor by tightening nut to the specified setting torque – see torque table (approx3 to 5 full revolutions).
- Warning! Use in concrete ONLY. Not recommended for use in lightweight masonry such as block or brick.
- Warning! Always wear safety glasses and other necessary protective devices or apparel when installing or working with anchors.
- Caution: Use of core drills is not recommended to drill holes for use with this anchor.
- Do not use an impact wrench to set or tighten the anchor. Not recommended for use in concrete which has not had sufficient time to cure.
- The use of carbide drill bits manufactured with ANSI B212.15 drill bit diameter requirements is recommended for installation of this anchor. Anchor spacing and edge distance (anchor installation locations) are the responsibility of the engineer of record.
- Installing product in oversized hole is not recommended. Product will not set properly or achieve full designed load in oversized hole.
