5/16" Machine Screw Anchor, 100/Box

Applications
The anchor is made from Anchor Body Antimonial Lead Alloy/Cone Zamac Alloy. This anchor is designed for use in Concrete, Block, and Brick.

Environment
The anchor is designed for use in a Moist environment.

Hole Diameter/Bit Diameter
The anchor requires a 5/8" hole to be drilled in the base material (Concrete, Block, and Brick). The hole should be drilled with carbide tipped bit that meets ANSI standards and used in a hammer drill.

Designated Size
The designated size of the anchor refers to the inside diameter 5/16" of the anchor or the diameter of the threaded rod or bolt that can be inserted into it.

Diameter of Anchor
The diameter of the anchor is 5/16".

Length Anchor
The length of the anchor is 1"

Thread Type
The threads on the anchor are national coarse threads that measures 5/16" with 18 threads per inch, commonly referred to as 5/16"-18 .

Setting Tool
Each anchor must be set in the concrete with a specific setting tool. The anchor is set using the 5/16" setting tool part which is sold separately.

Packaging
The anchor is packaged with 100 pieces per box and does not come with a setting tool.

Minimum Embedment
The minimum anchor embedment into the concrete is 1". Therefore, the anchor must be installed so that a minimum of 1" of the anchor is embedded into the concrete.

Depth of Hole
The depth of the hole that is required for the anchor should be a minimum of 1/2" deeper than the anchor will penetrate the concrete. This will allow space for dust created during the installation process to fall, which will prevent the anchor from bottoming out in the hole before full penetration into the concrete.

Fixture Hole Diameter
The hole in the fixture or material being fastened must be larger than the designated diameter of the anchor. The 5/16" diameter anchor requires the hole in the fixture to be 3/4".

Torque Value
The maximum torque that can be applied to the anchor once installed is 7 ft./lbs.

Spacing between Anchors
Each anchor must be spaced a minimum distance of 6-1/4" from each other when measured center to center.

Edge Distance
It is very important not to install the anchor any closer than 3-1/8" from an unsupported edge of the concrete.

Holding Values - Ultimate Load Values in 2000 PSI Concrete

1. Drill a 5/8" hole into the concrete using a carbide-tipped bit that meets ANSI Standards B212.15.
2. The depth of the hole can be deeper or equal to the minimum embedment depth of 1" which is equal to the length of the anchor .
3. Clean the hole with a wire brush, vacuum, compressed air, or a blow-out bulb.
4. Insert the anchor into the hole with the threaded cone end first.
5. Take the correct 5/16" Machine Screw Anchor setting tool and insert the smaller diameter end into the open end of the 5/16" Machine Screw Anchor.
6. Strike the end of the setting tool with a hammer until the anchor is fully set.
7. The 5/16" Machine Screw Anchor is now set. A 5/16" diameter bolt can be inserted into the 5/16" Machine Screw Anchor with a maximum torque of 7 ft. lbs.
8. Always use proper personal protective equipment per manufacturer's and OSHA instructions.
